The
BBI and Belgian Blue Beef Herd Book (BBB HB) offices
are located in the city of CINEY, capital of the region
of Condroz in Belgium. This city has been an important
trading center for cattle and horses since the Middle
Ages, with breeders converging to sell their animals.
Condroz breeders held an excellent reputation and animals
purchased in Ciney were found across Europe. As the
modern BBB HB emerged, it was established in Ciney,
thought to be the ideal location in the epicentre of
the Belgian Blue Breed's birthplace. The BBI headquarters
followed.

Conferences
Since
its inception in 1986, the BBI has been holding international
conferences to present the latest research, answer

International Association of Belgian Blue Cattle
Breeders (BBI) is a not-for-profit organization
established in1986 by the Belgian Blue Herd-Books
of the world.
16
countries are now members of the BBI, working
together to:
- harmonize
the methods and criteria of identification and
registration in the Herd-Book;
- keep
the register of the animals having been exchanged;
- interchange
the information regarding the breeding of Belgian
blue;
- favor
the exchange of sires;
- cooperate
in the promotion of the Belgian Blue breed;
- represent
the interests of the Belgian Blue internationally
